Remarks:

Nepenthes neoguinensis is a typical Nepenthes of the lowlands of New-Guinea. It is climbing in lowland primary-forest or on shrubs, oftenly quite high up to the trees; young plants are seldom, mostly in more open habitats, e.g. at riversides. The pitchers are quite typical, lower pitchers are ventricose-cylindrical with obviously large and long wings and the upper pitchers are infundibuliform. It is supposed, that it belongs to the more primitive species of the Nepenthaceae. One hint for it is the racemose flower, which is found usually at the primitive Western species, like e.g. N. distillatoria or N. pervillei.
